Under the motto “The German-Polish House creates understanding,” Robert Parzer and Julia Bork travel aboard the Eurocity cultural train from Berlin to Wrocław. This train hosts a unique multilingual cultural program featuring readings, concerts, dance, talks, performances, workshops, and much more. We talk to passengers about the culture of remembrance and the concept for a German-Polish House. What should a memorial look like? Where could it be located and why? What educational and encounter programs will the German-Polish House offer? How can I get involved? What is behind the concept of a “house without a location”? In doing so, we interactively explore what cooperation between two countries with a shared past could look like.
Experience culture for miles
The Culture Train offers an entertaining rail journey with plenty of culture on board and heads for Poland's third-largest city, which could hardly be more culturally rich. From readings, concerts, karaoke, and language courses to club nights, the varied and multilingual cultural program offers something for everyone! This makes traveling on the Culture Train worthwhile in several ways: Firstly, you can travel to the European Capital of Culture 2016 for a maximum of €27.00, and secondly, the exquisite program on the journey means that there is definitely no chance of boredom.
The Culture Train runs from Berlin to Wrocław on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning and returns on Friday evening and Sunday afternoon. More information about the Culture Train and the program can be found here.
