Book presentation and panel discussion with Barbara Engelking and Roma Sendyka

On 18 March 2025, the German-Polish House is organising a book presentation of the new publication "Oto widać i oto słychać. Świadkowie Zagłady w okupowanej Polsce" (This is what you see and this is what you hear. Witnesses of the Holocaust in occupied Poland). Two authors of the anthology will read from the book and present lectures on the topic. The subsequent panel discussion will be moderated by Robert Parzer from the staff unit of the German-Polish House.

The event will be held in Polish with simultaneous translation into German.

Professor Barbara Engelking is founder and Director of the Polish Center of Holocaust Research at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology at the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw (Poland). She received her PhD in sociology from the Polish Academy of Science and her MA in psychology from Warsaw University.

Roma Sendyka, professor at the Jagiellonian University, head of the research team, works at the Department of Anthropology of Literature and Cultural Research at the Jagiellonian University. She is co-founder and head of the Research Centre for Memory Cultures.

Robert Parzer, historian, is a research associate at the German-Polish House.
