About the project
As part of the "Youth Idea Labs" in 2023, young people from Poland and Germany engaged intensively with the history of German-Polish relations and its relevance in the past and present. Through a series of workshops, they developed their own concepts for educational projects designed to make the history and culture of remembrance of both countries tangible and accessible. The young participants tested eleven formats for the educational work of the German-Polish House. In November 2023, the groups traveled to Berlin to present their ideas at the official closing event.
I was pleasantly surprised by how easily the language barrier was overcome and how diverse the project participants' ideas were.
Participant
In 2024, a group of 14 young people from Poland and Germany is continuing the work on the educational projects. In April, the group took part in an intensive program of guided tours, historical workshops, and brainstorming sessions at the Krzyżowa (Kreisau) International Youth Meeting Centre. Inspired by the results of the previous year's group, the participants are developing four educational offerings for the German-Polish House in online workshops. These will be presented to the public at the end of the year.
